City of York Council is offering an exciting opportunity to join our developing 0-19 Healthy Child Service as a Health Visitor.

About the role;

The successful candidates will join the Healthy Child Service in working alongside early help services, housing, adult services, the police, the voluntary and community sectors, the wider health economy and of course families and communities themselves to help ensure every child and young person has the best possible start in life.

Working as a Health Visitor in York offers an opportunity to be pro-active in the delivery of the healthy child programme whilst being committed to delivering a high quality service to our clients.

Requirements;

We are looking for a high quality, innovative and forward looking Health Visitor with a passion for delivering good outcomes, and we welcome applications from newly qualified and experienced Health Visitors. If you feel this could be you then we want to hear from you.

We offer excellent support and training and development opportunities and corporate membership with the Institute of Health Visiting (iHV).

You would work across the city and operate out of one of the following office bases:

Clifton Children’s Centre

The Avenue’s (Tang Hall) Children’s Centre

Hob Moor Children’s Centre

Home working arrangements also available.

Full or part time hours considered.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.
