Here at North Yorkshire County Council our Technology and Change Department plays a vital part in improving and developing services across the whole Council for the benefit of our customers and staff. Our Team is responsible for a wide range of technologies including endpoint management, VDI, email, firewall/ADC, networking and telephony.

The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Unified Communications, Endpoint and Security Team within Technology and Change. We’re looking for an individual who has experience in providing 2nd line, day to day support of the technologies that the team are responsible for.

As a Technical Analyst you will be helping resolve user’s issues with the technologies that we look after, deploying day to day changes and working with the senior members of the team to deliver projects and undertake the daily admin and periodic upgrades to our underlying infrastructure.

What you will bring

Specific vendor experience in the technology platforms we support would be beneficial; these include PaloAlto firewall, Citrix ADC, Citrix XenDesktop, Trend security suite, Aruba networking, Microsoft Azure/365, SCCM/Intune and Mitel/Teams telephony.

We realise that’s a big ask and if you have experience of any of these areas you could be the person for us.  What’s most important is that you’re willing to learn, can use your initiative to solve problems and work as part of a team. There’s plenty of opportunity to develop in areas that aren’t already part of your skill set.

Working in Technology and Change you will be surrounded by a supportive, established team of change management professionals who will help you grow and develop within this role. As a North Yorkshire County Council employee you will have access to some great benefits via our everybody benefit’s scheme such as shopping discounts, home technology and green car salary sacrifice schemes, financial wellbeing and health assured and our employee assistance programme to assist with your health and wellbeing. The County of North Yorkshire is the largest County in England and Wales. Within the county are 598 square miles of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and 530 square miles of the North York Moors National Park. The county is included in the Yorkshire and Humberside Region.

Whilst the economy of the County has traditionally been dependent on agriculture and tourism, there is a fast growing high technology base and this, together with other forms of light manufacturing industry, is of increasing importance. The County Council has an active policy of economic development and the predominantly rural character of the County is highly attractive to high technology businesses as well as the traditional industries of farming, food production and tourism. The County contains several centres of great historic interest, market towns that invite light industrial development, the modern coalfield area in the South, scenic, lightly populated upland areas and the extensive lowland area in the Vale of York.
