About Haringey:

Are you looking for a new, exciting and challenging role that improves the lives of vulnerable and homeless people?

If so, we have an exciting opening for a creative, motivated and solution-focussed Commissioning Officer to join our celebrated Housing Related Support (HRS) Team.

The HRS Service supports residents facing housing vulnerability, street homelessness and multiple complex support needs. The team’s work cuts across council service areas, through commissioning, direct delivery of services, capital development projects and by working closely with partners and people with lived experience of homelessness.

The award-winning team has a strong ethos of working with local residents to shape services as experts by experience. Our priority is to co-design and deliver a coordinated response to homelessness and housing vulnerability that tackles inequality, meets people’s holistic needs and is of the highest possible quality.

About the role:

With the skills to build strong relationships, a commitment to improving outcomes and the ability to work proactively, you will work as part of a team commissioning a range of housing and homelessness services for vulnerable people. Working alongside a growing and varied team of commissioners and operational staff, you will take the lead in designing, commissioning and contract monitoring supported housing services for young people, care leavers and a range of different residents in Haringey.

You will have knowledge and experience working in either housing, homelessness or youth services, in the public or voluntary sectors. You will have the ability to manage competing priorities, a strong sense of creativity and innovation and the communication skills to build collaborative partnerships with service users, colleagues, and stakeholders. You will be confident creating complex but concise reports and documents for broad audiences, undertaking informal research and evidence gathering and using appropriate data to supplement your ideas.

About You:

You do not have to have commissioning experience to apply for this role. We are looking for someone who has the competencies and qualities to excel and grow, which could come from a range of professional and personal experiences.

We are especially keen to receive applications from people with lived experience of homelessness or being looked after by a local authority.

Benefits:

Be part of an award winning, passionate and dedicated team working together with partners to drive change and support some of Haringey’s most vulnerable residents.

  • Hybrid working model with time spent working from home, office and services
  • Flexible working hours
  • 30 days leave + bank holidays
  • Excellent pension scheme
  • Training opportunities & commitment to development
