Seize the Moment

These are truly exciting times in St Albans. We care deeply about our District and our communities and are passionate about making a positive difference to people’s lives. We have undertaken a strategic review to consider new and better ways of working and delivering our services. We have also paid close attention to lessons learned over the last 18 months. This has shaped our Building our Future transformation programme and resulted in the creation of 3 new Strategic Director posts.

Are you courageous and curious in equal measure?

If you want to be part of leading and shaping our District as a sustainable, vibrant place with outstanding quality of life, and are a talented, ambitious, creative, and results driven leader who can get the very best out of people to achieve exceptional service and project delivery, we want to hear from you.

Reporting into the Chief Executive you will be responsible for translating the vision and aspirations of the Council into strategies and policies that enable us to deliver for our residents, including through the local plan.  You will lead on shaping economic and commercial opportunities for growth, building strong strategic partnerships locally and regionally, communicating our strategic narrative, transforming service delivery, and providing oversight of performance against corporate priorities. Acting as Deputy Chief Executive on key strategic delivery groups you will drive forward the ambition of the council while working closely with other District, County and strategic partners.

For an informal discussion about the roles please contact Rob Naylor on 07922 417550 or Ben Cox on 07809 374692. or click apply below.

Closing date: 5th November 2021

*Please note that structures are yet to be finalised as we would want our new Strategic Directors to be involved in reviewing and shaping the final structures.
