Sandwell Educational Psychology Team is a strong and progressive team that is an integral part of the well- regarded multi-professional Inclusion Support Service (Ofsted-HMI 2017) within an LA where ‘Informed and coordinated actions are improving provision and outcomes for children and young people with SEND’ (Ofsted-HMI 2019).

As Senior ECP and Area Team Manager, you will work alongside another Area Team Manager/Deputy Principal ECP as part of the Sandwell Educational and Child Psychology Team, which is set within a multi-disciplinary service (Inclusion Support) with an outstanding reputation amongst schools for making a difference.  The service is a welcoming, warm and friendly place to work.

The Inclusion Support Service comprises of a range of different teams each providing specialised support services to the community, ensuring systemic working practices, training and school improvement initiatives being carried out across the Local Authority to meet the needs of a range of children, young people and their families.  As a Senior Educational and Child Psychologist, you will provide professional line management to a smaller team of ECPs and as an Area Team Manager you will provide operational management to a locality based multidisciplinary team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly skilled psychologist to work within our supportive and collaborative leadership team who is able to motivate, lead and manage a team to a high standard.  We are looking for an individual who is able to work strategically and innovatively across the local authority with a range of professionals and organisations to maintain positive and successful working relationships.

 

As Sandwell employee, you will have the opportunity to agile work and have an annual leave entitlement of up to 35 days per year. The Local Authority has a flexible working hours scheme, with a possibility of taking up to 24 days flexi-leave a year.  Travel expenses will be paid with additional LA incentives such as the Car Loan and Cycle to Work Schemes available. There are also various health and wellbeing programmes open to all Sandwell employees.

You must have a degree in Psychology recognised by British Psychological Society (BPS) and a post graduate qualification in Educational Psychology at Masters or Doctoral level (recognised by BPS).

You will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
