A Great Opportunity...

Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.

The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.

The Post

To be considered for this exciting position it is essential that you have experience of direct work with children who are considered to be at risk. The successful candidate will need to work from ‘child first, offender second’ approach that promotes diversity, and understands discrimination, disproportionality and safeguarding concerns such as child exploitation.

You will manage a caseload of children presenting offending behaviour who may be subject to court orders. The post involves writing reports for courts, community panels, completing assessments and delivering interventions to children and their families to reduce risk.

The Person

The YOS Case Manager will have a strong track record in working with some of the most challenging and vulnerable children in the community to support positive outcomes and reduce re-offending. You must have a proven ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and be able to write clear, analytical and concise reports within a youth justice environment within timescales.

We require you to have curious and enquiring mind and a knowledge of; ideally, trauma informed practice as well as an understanding of the issues affecting children today.

Closing Date: 27 October 2021 (23:00)
