This is a great opportunity for Roads Engineers to you to join Lincolnshire County Council's Technical Services Partnership on a Career Grade Opportunity. You can be part of a great group of professionals making your mark in the present and future of Lincolnshire's roads.

About the role

Technical Services Partnership Roads' teams provide technical input to a variety of Clients' projects, both internal and external. From the design of new junctions, new bypasses, new pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, to improvements to the existing network, such as resurfacing schemes for the Primary Road Network. You may also be involved in the design and check of development proposals.

You will be involved in the different stages of a project, including concept development, feasibility, design and supervision of the works on site. You will have the opportunity to manage your own projects, working closely with other team members and specialisms, external partners and Clients.

Our Career Grade scheme gives you a path to progress; there are opportunities to develop your knowledge and competence and to grow both personally and professionally.

About the Team

We are looking for people to join one of our three Roads teams, made up of around 30 friendly and enthusiastic professionals. The County's Technical Services Partnership combines public sector ethos and private sector know-how to provide professional engineering expertise.

The teams are formed by individuals at different levels supporting one another and sharing their know-how. Everyone in Technical Services Partnership is willing to help and share their knowledge and ideas and help you succeed.

We can and will support you in achieving both academic and professional qualifications, and we will also make sure you feel integrated and part of the family!

About you

You will already have some knowledge, skill and experience in the design of roads and highways infrastructure and be familiar with Design Standards. You could have just finished College or University, be a new Incorporated Engineer or have relevant experience - it doesn't matter which as long as you fit with the team, and are willing to develop and will work effectively for Lincolnshire.

We excel at 'developing our own' and we will support you through professional working towards Eng Tech, Incorporated or Chartered status with relevant engineering institutions. We have a registered ICE training scheme and several experienced ICE reviewers to help you with this.

As this is a Career Grade Opportunity we would welcome applications from candidates at Senior Technician level (@Grade 7 £25,991 - £28,672) through Assistant Engineer (@Grade 8, £28,672 - £32,234) up to Engineer (@Grade 9 £32,234 - £35,745).

Should you come on board at one of the junior levels then TSP will support your development to progress within your career post up to the top of the G9 pay grade (£35,745) and beyond.

Along with a competitive salary we are offering;

  • A Contributory pension
  • Comprehensive benefits package including excellent discount schemes and cycle to work
  • Civil service sports council membership
  • Flexible working policies
  • Career progression opportunities
  • An annual leave entitlement of up to 28 days plus the option to buy more
