The main objective of the Technology & Change Commercial Service is “To provide value adding services whilst increasing our resilience and capacity to deliver and support improved outcomes for NYCC and its customers”. Our size, experience and breadth of skills enable us to deliver services to external organisations that represents real value for them whilst also generating income for NYCC to re-invest in critical services. We also support the wider Council to support it’s commercial objectives where there is a need for Technology and Change solutions to enable the delivery of those services.
We deliver Technology & Change services to over 500 external organisations on a fully traded basis, the current portfolio of customers includes:
Private sector (including NYCC owned companies) – we provide a range of services from Fully Managed IT support for NYCC owned companies to Specialist BI Data Models for a national Waste Management company.
Other public sector organisations – we provide services such as fully managed IT Infrastructure, Data Backup Solutions, Managed Telephony, Website Support, CRM Support, HR/Payroll Systems, Finance Systems and Data Management.
Care Home Sector – we provide Website support and Cloud Services support
Voluntary and Community Sector – we provide a number of services such as Website support, Mobile Data Management, CRM solutions, Cloud Support Services
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Customer Manager to join our team as we seek to further expand the services we deliver.
We are looking for a Commercial Customer Manager to lead the development of new ICT services to external customers and be responsible for the management of key customer accounts, including new customer sales. You will be responsible for the management of key commercial projects and ensuring that both projects and existing services are delivered to time, quality and budget constraints. You will work with our customers to understand their current and future technology requirements providing advice and guidance to them in the use of ICT. You will be part of the Technology and Change Commercial Services Management Team and work closely with our Schools ICT team who deliver traded services to the education sector.
What you will bring
To be successful in this role you will need to have knowledge and experience of selling technology services to external customers. You will also have significant experience of managing customer relationships and customer contracts. You will have demonstrable experience in planning and implementing complex IT projects and leading the design of services that add real value to customers. You will have a relevant degree and/or equivalent experience, and evidence of continuing professional development.
