We are currently recruiting for 2 Assistant Engineers (Traffic Management Coordination Officers) to be responsible for coordination of all activities on the highway network, including all planned or unplanned events, evaluating their impact on the network and put in place the appropriate measures required to reduce any disruption they cause.

To assist in the operation of the Doncaster Permit Scheme including the evaluation and processing of permit applications’ the application of permit conditions, challenging permit durations and approving early starts / extension requests.

The roles will also include the evaluation of permit works for Traffic Management requirements and prepare the appropriate documentation to facilitate road closures, lane closures, traffic control forms and emergency road closures. The post holders will evaluate traffic management layouts as part of the permit application process and when appropriate, carry out traffic management site visits.

Duties include assisting in the completion of KPI performance monitoring and periodic assessment reviews relating to works being undertaken by all Statutory Undertakers.

The ideal candidates will have experience of working with utility companies and their contractors, and a good working knowledge of relevant legislation including New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991, Road Traffic Regulation Act, Traffic Management Act 2004 as well as the relevant Code of Practices.

The candidates must also be able to demonstrate extensive experience in the assessing of temporary traffic management and temporary traffic regulation orders.
