Haringey Council is one of 32 in London. Haringey is an extremely diverse borough and the Council has set clear ambitious objectives through its borough plan to make Haringey a better place to live, encourage investment and create opportunities that all can share. Haringey’s vision for the future is one of sustainable growth, in housing and jobs and on helping our residents and businesses take advantage of that growth.

We have got huge ambitions for Haringey. As the shape of local government continues to change, we are determined to rise to the challenge and find new ways to ensure that our residents enjoy the best opportunities in life. Working at Haringey gives you the opportunity to play a part in meeting those ambitions on behalf of everyone who calls the borough their home.

About the role

Haringey’s parks & green spaces provide over £11m worth of benefits to the borough’s residents, for example through recreation, health & well being benefits, air quality and carbon sequestration. We are now recruiting to find a Parks Project Officer who will sit in the Park Development team. The Parks Projects Officer will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the capital and revenue funded parks projects, in line with agreed programmes, budgets and quality criteria, as well as bidding and securing funding from a range of sources.

The range of such projects currently being undertaken by the team, totalling over £20m over the next few years,  includes whole park master plans, bridge repairs, cafe & toilet improvements, play area and sports pitch improvements, drainage schemes and general landscape enhancements. With the team’s three critical areas of focus being inclusion, climate change and quality,  you will help ensure that parks and green spaces are presented in the best possible light at all times.

About You

  • A land based degree is desirable.
