Job Details
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join the Community Safety Team at Chelmsford City Council. As a Community Safety Officer, you will manage complaints involving anti-social behaviour and offenders, liaising with officers from across the Council and a full range of stakeholders. You will act as a key officer in relation to the community safety partnership statutory duties for reducing re-offending which will include the delivery of projects and diversionary activities. Being part of the Community Safety Team will also require you to provide cover, assistance and resilience to the other Community Safety Officer roles and contribute to the wider work of the Public Health and Protection Services including the role of a designated safeguarding reporting officer.
In this varied role you will be a member of the team responsible for the way the Council carries out its anti-social behaviour case management function. You will have knowledge and experience of using powers under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
You will be an excellent team player and organised, including the ability to manage and coordinate large scale events and have experience of working within a public sector partnerships environment. You will possess excellent communication skills when dealing with staff, partners and members of the public and you will be able to maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate strong customer service skills.
