Nottinghamshire County Council have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, energetic and visionary public health professional looking to progress your career into a Deputy Director of Public Health role within a strong and successful senior leadership team.

Nottinghamshire is a diverse County, consisting of a mix of urban and rural areas, with significant areas of deprivation and health challenges. The successful candidate will join a Council with engaged political leadership and a commitment to cross Council working. Underpinning this will be a new Council Plan based on a public health framework for building inclusive and sustainable economies. Nottinghamshire County has an active Health and Wellbeing Board, and a strong commitment to partnership working to deliver great outcomes.

You will become part of a varied and friendly Public Health Division, led by the Director of Public Health and four other Consultants in Public Health, comprising of over 60 colleagues, bringing a diversity of multi-disciplinary skills and experience. Working closely with senior leadership teams across the Council and its partner organisations, you will help to drive forward our vision. This is a unique opportunity to progress your career and deliver in a system-leadership role in a vibrant and successful council, with a senior team which values collaboration and is seeking to strengthen the support and challenge we provide to one another.

As Deputy Director of Public Health you are likely to be driving change across all public health domains to help our successful and ambitious council and our partners deliver our plans for a healthier Nottinghamshire and to reduce inequalities.

We are seeking to appoint a visionary and motivational system-leader, with a proven track record of public health success as a Public Health Consultant and extensive experience of partnership working.

It is essential that you are a registered GMC, GDC or UK PHR public health specialist with significant public health experience and the in all areas of public health practice.
