- Mental Capacity Act
- And be able to work in accordance with the legislative principles and any other relevant guidance or case law.
A qualification in Social Work is essential for this post and you must be willing to complete an Enhanced DBS check. Ideally you will have experience of working within both Adult Learning Disability Services and Children with Disability Services, or at least experience working alongside either service as part of a Transition Team.
Other training undertaken since qualification should be evidenced with your application. Experience of working as a practice educator as a DoLS Assessor would be desirable.
You will need:
- Excellent assessment skills
- Be able to work with service user and carers in times of crisis
- Work with individuals and families in an outcome focused way using a Strength Based Approach
- To manage a caseload of varied complexity
