About the Role

The Assessment Service consists of five Assessment teams, each led by a Team Manager managing up to five social workers.

You will be required to manage complex cases while ensuring the voice of the child is heard and recorded consistently. We are committed to “signs of safety” and need exceptional social workers who are committed to embedding this model of working

As part of this position, you will:

  • Provide high quality casework and service to vulnerable children and families.
  • Safeguard children, promote well-being and improve their outcomes.
  • Complete child & family assessments and section 47 enquiries.
  • write SMART CIN, CP and LAC plans.
  • Maintain high standards of professional practice and engage with supervision.
  • Manage a complex caseload

About You

Experienced Social Work professionals with a degree in social work – CQSW, DipSW or equivalent – you must be registered with the appropriate professional body and should have substantial and varied post-qualification experiences of working with children and families. Your experience should cover systemic practice, and you will need an in-depth understanding of legislative and policy frameworks, along with a willingness to learn and develop as a practitioner; being a team player is essential in any social work team.

The successful candidate will join supportive colleagues whose core business will relate to short term child protection. The skill base required centres on excellent report writing skills and the ability to provide quality assessments, along with effective communication skills.
