About the Role

Haringey is committed to giving our children ‘the best start in life’ and our Children’s Centres services are leading the way to support this vision. Park Lane Children’s Centre provides an integrated service across Haringey.

As Site Manager, you will have overall day to day responsibility for the security and safety along with project management of 4 Centres (Triangle Centre, Park Lane, Woodside and Noel Park). You will oversee the general maintenance and cleanliness of the site in order to provide a safe, secure and healthy environment for pupils, staff parents, visitors and other users.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Responsibility for small repair works, maintenance and making safe the fabric of the building.
  • Reporting repairs & maintenance issues.
  • Ensuring that timelines are planned and adhered to accordingly.
  • Management of building Contractors relating to repairs (Gas, Electricity & Plumbing) ensuring works are carried out in agreed timescales.
  • Assimilating and overseeing all aspects of Health and Safety
  • Ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations under fire, health and safety and other related legislation
  • Management duties – overseeing other Site Managers
  • Keyholder duties – Opening buildings in the morning and locking up at night.
  • Portage stock of furniture, equipment and other items in the centre.
  • Working effectively as a team with other site managers, including travelling to other sites in line with service requirement

Please be aware that the role will require out of hours, evening and weekend availability.

About You

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar Building Manager, Centre Manager or Site Facilities Manager role with an excellent track experience of managing individuals and teams effectively. Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices.

We need a passionate, committed, self-motivated person with some experience of working in a setting managing and maintaining buildings, sites and premises. We require someone who has demonstrable experience and knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and has a passion for working in an environment with children and families.

This is a busy and challenging role and will require some flexibility in working hours in order to meet the needs of the Centres.
