About Us: Ensuring people have the best day of their lives.

Getting married or forming a civil partnership is one of the most special and treasured occasions of people’s lives, and many choose to hold their ceremony at Chelsea Old Town Hall. It’s a famous, popular and busy venue, with several suites and rooms, and we pride ourselves on offering a warm, professional and personalised service. We also hold a large number of public and private citizenship ceremonies every year.

The Role:

As Ceremonies Usher you’ll create that all-important first impression. You’ll welcome people and their guests, ensuring everything runs smoothly and according to schedule. You will also coordinate preparations for ceremonies, ensuring rooms and waiting areas are well-presented and properly equipped. Able to think on your feet, you’ll be the key point of contact for resolving requests and issues quickly and professionally. You’ll also have important first aid and fire safety responsibilities. When you’re not front of house, you’ll be showing potential clients around the building, promoting our services and taking bookings.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.   About You: We’re looking for warm, friendly, well-presented people with excellent spoken English and exemplary face-to-face customer service skills. Your background could be in the hospitality sector, luxury retail or possibly front-of-house at a theatre or high-end venue, but you will be confident in front of crowds, empathic and tactful, and unflappable in a crisis.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s alone will not be considered for this role.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive a high volume of suitable applicants.
