About the role
As part of a major service transformation, Haringey is seeking to recruit to a new number of new positions. This new operating model will unlock the benefits and efficiencies offered by a new Parking IT system, as well as providing adequate staffing resources to take the transformation programme forward, ensuring that the service continues to adapt to a fast-changing commercial, legislative, technological environment.
We are looking to recruit 6 Parking Enforcement Supervisors to monitor, support and assist in all the duties undertaken by the parking enforcement service, and be directly responsible for first line management of a team of Civil Enforcement Officers (CEOs) and Senior Civil Enforcement officers (SCEOs). To undertake enforcement action on street and issue penalty charge notices as part of business as usual ensuring that CEOs and SCEOs carry out their enforcement duties to service standards and in accordance with deployment requirements. To use new technology to modernise monitoring and first line management arrangements making efficient use of resources.
Contribute to the improvement of the service delivered by the Parking Enforcement Section and ensure excellent customer satisfaction; providing both on and off-street support to ensure that the appropriate level of parking enforcement action is undertaken.
About you
You will need to have a detailed knowledge of parking enforcement including the relevant legislation and codes of practice in order to identify offences, carry out appropriate enforcement action and provide supervisory advice.
A sound knowledge and understanding of health and safety at work requirements with a commitment to the health and safety of all operations and the team’s welfare. Experience in day to day supervision of frontline operational staff ensuring their adherence to procedures and regulations and where necessary initiate first line management action in relation to people management issues; including performance, conduct and absence and an ability to lead by example, motivate staff and foster a positive organisational culture.
