This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced adult learning professional to join Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council as Curriculum Quality lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing a flexible, innovative and responsive Digital skills curriculum area that meets the changing needs of Sandwell’s residents and employers as well as the Council’s strategic priorities.

You will ensure the delivery of high-quality provision and learner outcomes with clear progression opportunities and sustainable destinations for learners and lead the drive for continuous development in digital skills across all aspects of delivery. You will ensure the development of positive internal and external partnerships to inform curriculum development and planning. You will support the quality assurance and improvement of learner outcomes.

The digital skills area is growing, and we would like you to teach subjects such as digital marketing, essential digital skills and digital coding both face to face and online. This will enable you to develop a curriculum area that you can lead and progress. You will be training existing tutors and nurturing their current digital skills. A background in vocational subjects would also be welcomed, this is a growing online area.

About you:

Successful candidates will need to meet the following requirements:

  • Level 5 Qualification in the Teaching of Adults (e.g. DTLLS or equivalent)
  • Level 4 Subject Specialism 
  • Level 2 English and Maths qualifications* unless English and maths is your specialism
  • Level 4 internal quality assurance qualification - IQA
  • You must have extensive, thorough knowledge of the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework, assessment, standardisation and internal quality moderation processes.
  • A proven track record of leading innovative and responsive accredited and non-accredited adult learning, skills and employment focused curriculum design, planning, development, and evaluation.
  • Substantial experience of leading and supporting teaching staff to improve their practice through developmental observations of teaching, learning and assessment, and of implementing mechanisms to share good practice and promote continuous staff development across curriculum areas.

This role requires an Enhanced DBS check.
