Job Details

An exciting opportunity has presented to lead Bridgend Youth Justice Service.

Our Youth Justice Service has been on a significant journey of improvement over the past 3 years, since being re-established as a stand-alone service. Current leaders have ensured the service is in a secure position to be taken over by a new manager who will have the vision and passion to push the service on towards further improvement.

You will be responsible for ensuring high quality youth justice and prevention support for children and young people open to the service. This will include responsibility for ensuring all practice within youth justice is delivered in line with relevant legislation, regulation and guidance which includes local and national policy and procedures.

We are looking for a creative and proactive individual who has the desire to develop the service and ensure there is strong collaboration across partnerships to deliver robust and effective services for children and young people.

You will play a pivotal role, in ensuring the vision of the service is delivered:

‘Together we will support children and young people to prevent offending behaviour by enabling them to contribute positively to their communities and reach their full potentiaL’.

The appointed candidate will play a key role in developing relevant evidenced based interventions and policies and procedures in line with good practice as well as ensuring the Youth Justice Management Board are fully appraised of progress and challenges across the service.

For an informal discussion about this post please contact Mark Lewis (Group Manager Family Support).

The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.

Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.

Applicants should note that a criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) will be necessary for the successful applicant.

Closing Date: Wednesday 8th December 2021

Mae cyfle cyffrous wedi codi i arwain Gwasanaeth Cyfiawnder Ieuenctid Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr.

Mae ein Gwasanaeth Cyfiawnder Ieuenctid wedi bod ar daith sylweddol o wella dros y 3 blynedd diwethaf, ers cael ei ailsefydlu fel gwasanaeth annibynnol. Mae arweinwyr presennol wedi sicrhau bod y gwasanaeth mewn sefyllfa ddiogel i gael ei gymryd drosodd gan reolwr newydd a fydd yn meddu ar y weledigaeth a'r angerdd i wthio'r gwasanaeth ymlaen tuag at welliant pellach.

Byddwch yn gyfrifol am sicrhau cyfiawnder ieuenctid o ansawdd uchel a chymorth atal i blant a phobl ifanc sy'n agored i'r gwasanaeth. Bydd hyn yn cynnwys cyfrifoldeb am sicrhau bod yr holl arferion ym maes cyfiawnder ieuenctid yn cael eu cyflawni yn unol â'r holl ddeddfwriaeth, rheoleiddio a chanllawiau perthnasol sy'n cynnwys polisi a gweithdrefnau lleol a chenedlaethol.

Rydym yn chwilio am unigolyn creadigol a rhagweithiol sydd â'r awydd i ddatblygu'r gwasanaeth a sicrhau bod cydweithio cryf ar draws partneriaethau i ddarparu gwasanaethau cadarn ac effeithiol i blant a phobl ifanc.

Byddwch yn chwarae rhan ganolog, gan sicrhau bod gweledigaeth y gwasanaeth yn cael ei chyflawni:

‘Gyda'n gilydd byddwn yn cefnogi plant a phobl ifanc i atal ymddygiad troseddol drwy eu galluogi i gyfrannu'n gadarnhaol at eu cymunedau a chyrraedd eu potensial llawn’.

Bydd yr ymgeisydd a benodir yn chwarae rhan allweddol wrth ddatblygu ymyriadau a pholisïau a gweithdrefnau perthnasol sy'n seiliedig ar dystiolaeth yn unol ag arfer da yn ogystal â sicrhau bod y Bwrdd Rheoli Cyfiawnder Ieuenctid yn cael ei hysbysu'n llawn am gynnydd a heriau ar draws y gwasanaeth.

I gael trafodaeth anffurfiol am y swydd hon, cysylltwch â Mark Lewis (Rheolwr Grŵp Cymorth i Deuluoedd).

Mae'r gallu i gyfarch cwsmeriaid drwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg yn ofyniad ar gyfer y swydd hon.

Mae amddiffyn plant, pobl ifanc neu oedolion mewn perygl yn un o gyfrifoldebau craidd pob un o gyflogeion y cyngor.
