Job Details
The Council’s Street Care service is responsible for the cleanliness of the whole borough and undertake a range of street cleaning and street care activities to ensure that public spaces across the Borough are maintained to a high environmental quality and so that the Council operates in accordance with code of practice on litter and refuse, thereby helping to provide an attractive and diverse environment, where people feel safe and secure
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to play a key role in helping us achieve improved national standards of cleanliness. Working primarily as part of the urban street cleansing team, they will be sweeping, cleansing and removing litter / fly-tips / graffiti from the highway and public areas.
Based at our Freighter House depot in Springfield, the post holder would normally be expected to work the following hours:
Monday to Thursday 08:00am – 16:00pm,
Friday 08:00am to 15:30pm
It should be noted however that some flexibility will be required, including earlier or later starts on occasions.
The successful candidate will be expected to work 37 hours per week and possess a current full UK driving licence.
