About Haringey:

Are you looking for a new, exciting and challenging role that improves the lives of vulnerable and homeless people?

If so, we have an exciting opening for a creative, motivated and solution-focussed Commissioning Officer to join our celebrated Housing Related Support (HRS) Team.

The HRS Service supports residents facing housing vulnerability, street homelessness and multiple complex support needs. The team’s work cuts across council service areas, through commissioning, direct delivery of services, capital development projects and by working closely with partners and people with lived experience of homelessness.

The award-winning team has a strong ethos of working with local residents to shape services as experts by experience. Our priority is to co-design and deliver a coordinated response to homelessness and housing vulnerability that tackles inequality, meets people’s holistic needs and is of the highest possible quality.

About the role:

The Commissioning Officer for Older People and Frailty will be involved in all commissioning activity under the Older People and Frailty remit, including homecare, residential care, extra care and day opportunities.  The individual will also be integral to the delivery of our Early Help and Prevention Strategy. The post will require excellent and productive relationships with our commissioning leads, health partners, voluntary sector partners and neighbouring Borough Commissioning Leads. Additionally, the postholder will work closely with operational colleagues and the Brokerage Team.

The individual will need to be dynamic, solutions-focused and a strong relationship builder. The individual will have a good working knowledge of relevant legislation, and a strong drive to deliver outcomes and keep people safe.

About You:

You do not have to have commissioning experience to apply for this role. We are looking for someone who has the competencies and qualities to excel and grow, which could come from a range of professional and personal experiences.

We are especially keen to receive applications from people with lived experience of homelessness or being looked after by a local authority.

Be part of an award winning, passionate and dedicated team working together with partners to drive change and support some of Haringey’s most vulnerable residents.

  • Hybrid working model with time spent working from home, office and services
  • Flexible working hours
  • 30 days leave + bank holidays
  • Excellent pension scheme
  • Training opportunities & commitment to development
