An exciting opportunity has arisen within our in-house payroll team for a Payroll Administrator.  Reporting to the Payroll Team Leader you will contribute to the efficient and effective preparation and processing of a comprehensive payroll service.

Who we are looking for:

This is a challenging opportunity which will allow the selected candidate to be fully trained in the area of payroll. The role involves working on a busy payroll team which is responsible for processing end to end payroll to employees working for the Royal Borough of Greenwich as well as a number of other organisations. Good communication skills will be required so that you can deal with staff and officers who work for the council. 

A good head for figures and the ability to use and interrogate IT systems accurately and input data quickly but accurately will be required.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work accurately, plan and prioritise their own work and achieve deadlines and targets.

We are keen to hear from experienced payroll professionals or those who have an interest in developing payroll knowledge. The successful candidate should have a can do attitude and are highly motivated and committed to providing an excellent and proactive service in line with statutory and operational deadlines. 

You will have excellent communication skills and effective time management skills, being able to work under pressure with minimum supervision.  You will also have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and have a high level of numeracy focussed on accuracy and attention to detail.  It is essential that you can demonstrate an understanding of data protection and the importance of maintaining confidentiality

The role is based at the Woolwich Centre and is fully office based.
