Working as part of the Early Support Team, Early Support Community Hub Coordinators are based in 1 of the 16 Kirklees Community Hubs. Community Hubs are formed from the local schools and their partners, who work together to develop a range of services that support children, families and the wider community.
This is an exciting role, where the right candidate can make a huge difference to their community by supporting the work of the Community Hubs. The Hubs are a collaborative and creative spaces, where solutions to local issues are planned and delivered.
We are looking for creative individuals, who have great local knowledge and understand how to engage people effectively to join us as Early Support Community Hub Coordinators.

- Holme Valley North and South
- Rawthorpe, Dalton, Almondbury, Kirkheaton
- Denby Dale, Kirkburton
This is an exciting time to join Kirklees council as part of the Early support Team. We are embarking on a new journey where the partnership approach to supporting children, young people and families locally in communities is a real focus, this is called ‘Families Together’. The community hubs are an integral part of this development.
As an Early Support Community Hub Coordinator, you will work closely with the Hub Lead and Early Support Team to ensure that each Community Hub is well developed and an effective vehicle for developing a range of services and support options for children, young people, families and the wider community. To do this you will need to build good relationships with schools and wider organisations, including parents, children, young people and local citizens, ensuring their voice is captured when planning services.
Working with partners you will ensure that there is a wide range of activities available that are accessible to all children, young people and families with a focus on prevention and early intervention.
Local knowledge will be useful, but understanding that the skills, expertise and knowledge held by the children, families and communities themselves is a great resource that will help support your work within the Hub. The knowledge of people we support is vital for maintaining effective support and in the design and delivery of Hub services. Clear communication with children, families and the community about what’s on offer, where to get support and how to become involved will be part of your role.
You will need excellent planning and organisation skills in order to provide and coordinate activities all year round. Candidates are not necessarily expected to deliver all year-round activities themselves, but to ensure that provision is well organised both in and out of term time.

Appointees will be supported to contribute to and benefit from districtwide Hub coordination, development and training.
Working Pattern: flexible hours, some travel will be required. The jobs will be mobile and agile and suitable equipment will be provided to enable this. For some Hubs travel is an essential part of this job and therefore it would be extremely difficult for you to do your job effectively if you did not use a car for all or most of the time. It is essential that you hold a full and valid driving licence.
The work of the Community Hub Coordinators will be matrix managed. Work will be directed locally by members of each Community Hubs Senior Leadership Team to meet the needs of each Community Hub. Employment terms and conditions will be held by the Local Authority.
