Location: Occupational Therapy team - Bridge Mills Kendal

Hours:  One post 37 hours per week

Contract: Fixed Term to March 2023

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate individual to join our Occupational Therapy service in the Kendal area. You will be an enthusiastic person who can support our customers and their carers to be as independent as possible and to help them remain safety in their own homes.

We would love to hear from individuals who may have transferrable skills looking to gain experience in this service as a Social Care Worker. You will work as a part of our friendly and supportive team offering great professional benefits and the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills that will enhance the lives of the people we support.

The Role

As an Occupational Therapy Social Care Worker you will be compassionate resourceful and interested in promoting people's independence and wellbeing. You will work creatively and holistically with the individual you will also collaborate with team members and key partners such as housing and health colleagues.

The successful applicant will be keen to learn rise to challenges and will be able to problem solve. This is an exciting opportunity to play a part in promoting an individual's personal strengths and have a significant impact on the lives of those you work with.

Who we are looking for


Becoming a Social Care Worker is an excellent opportunity for those looking to begin their career in Adult Social Care. The ideal candidate will have awareness of working with vulnerable people experience of team working and good organisational and IT skills. You will work in ways that promote independence and enable people to maximise their strengths working with stakeholders for better outcomes.

There will be an intensive three-month training period and ongoing supervision and we will support successful candidates to deliver their targets and work to deadlines which are requirements of this role.

This role requires an enhanced DBS check with an Adults Barred List check. Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with Adults.

We are currently operating virtual interviews. This will preferably be undertaken using the Microsoft Teams software which is currently free for new users however if there are any issues with accessing this technology we are happy to discuss alternative arrangements prior to the interviews.
