Hours: 37 hours per week (and the Council operates a flexi time scheme).

Workbase: Carlisle Cumbria. There are 3 main sites in Carlisle (Lord Street Ashley Street and Barras Lane); but the post holder is expected to be able to travel independently to other Council sites in Cumbria if required.

Contract: Permanent contract.

The Records Management Service is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join us as a Records Manager helping to manage Council records and assist with the Digital Mailroom. We are excited to offer this as a permanent opportunity.

The ideal candidate will assist in the provision operation and development of the service ensuring accordance with corporate policies relevant legislation and best practice. You should have a Postgraduate Diploma / Master's Degree in Records Management or recoginised equivalent such as Librarianship or Information Management qualifications.

You will have experience of using Records Management systems accessioning and listing as well as knowledge of standards and principles of Records Management. You will be dealing with record transfers and disposals helping with the Digital Mailroom advising staff on managing records and assisting with updates to the Corporate Retention and Disposal Schedule.

We are looking for a clear communicator who can demonstrate accuracy consistency and attention to detail. You should be able to work as part of a small team use your own initiative and manage your time effectively.

We are currently operating virtual interviews. This will preferably be undertaken using the Microsoft Teams software which is currently free for new users however if there are any issues with accessing this technology we are happy to discuss alternative arrangements prior to the interviews.
