Social Worker

Employer
Lambeth Council
Location
Lambeth, London (Greater)
Salary
£35,067 - £42,609
Closing date

Lambeth is one of the most diverse and vibrant areas of London. Lambeth’s communities include Waterloo in the north, an area that has a world class arts and entertainment centre on the South Bank and a buzzing nightlife scene at Vauxhall. In the south we have Streatham’s bustling High Road and a wealth of open spaces and in Lambeth’s heart Brixton is well known for its vibrant, multicultural communities, bustling markets, and the creative energy of its residents.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced social worker with a minimum of two years post ASYE experience as part of our Transformation Team.

To support the delivery of the Council’s estate regeneration programme by promoting  positive change in affected residents’ lives by using social work methods, models and tools, with the aims of  supporting them through the various stages of regeneration including where their home is identified for potential regeneration, assessment of housing need and allocation of a new home, the moving and settling in period; helping them to be as independent as possible and to manage risks of abuse and neglect.

Taking a case management approach, ensure that vulnerable residents affected by the council’s estate regeneration programme are identified at the earliest opportunity and tailored support plans are put in place to ensure they are supported appropriately through the rebuilding and rehousing process.

To make professional judgements in the context of the relevant legal and policy frameworks

To work with residents affected by the estate regeneration programme to carry out assessments of their needs for care and support, to plan how those needs will be met, to support them with putting those plans in to action, and review those plans and reassess needs

To carry out adult safeguarding enquiries, support the work of others involved in these enquiries, and to support people with care and support needs to develop and put in to action safeguarding plans appropriate to their wishes and circumstances

We are looking for colleagues who will look first at what people can do rather than what they can't do and have conversations that identify what is important to the person, 'what matters' rather than 'what's the matter'. We believe that by exploring people's goals and aspirations, and the strengths our clients have themselves or have around them, we can help people to stay independent for longer and remain connected to their communities.

If you hold the same values and ethos as we do, please come and join us and help us continue to develop our strength-based practice model.

We fully understand the challenges of day-to-day frontline social work, therefore we are putting tools in place to improve your work/life balance and to try and make day to day tasks more manageable. We offer technology to enable colleagues to change the way they work & become more agile and to help avoid unnecessary travel.

We will provide you with a career progression scheme, regular supervision and access to ongoing training and development to enhance and develop your career in Adult Social Care.

We offer season ticket loans, mileage and subscriptions, a cycle scheme, access to online journals and resources, a 35-hour week and generous annual leave.
