This role is fixed term until March 2022. 

Sandwell’s Prevention Stores delivers / maintains / services equipment and assistive technology to enable the people of Sandwell to live as independently as they can within their home environment.

As an important front line service working alongside a range of Health & Social Care Services, we are looking to expand our pool of Equipment Technicians who are responsible for a range of different functions within the service.

We have 6 fixed term posts available (20 hours) until end of March 2022 and we are especially looking for candidates who have experience, knowledge or an interest in one or more of the following areas: 

  • Working within an office function, liaising with customers, their carers/family and Health & Social Care professionals to book deliveries of equipment or services, arrange collections of equipment
  • The delivery, installation, collection of community equipment such as specialist bed, hoists and other equipment provided to help maintain a person’s independence
  • The maintenance, servicing and inspection testing of our range of equipment we provide
  • Driving duties

The service operates 7 days a week (standard hours), including Bank Holidays and successful candidates will be required to work on a rota basis with each post holder required to work weekends as part of their working week.

You must have: 

  • Literacy Level 2 qualification or equivalent as a minimum
  • Full driving licence

A requirement of this post is that any successful candidate must have had a full course of an approved COVID‐19 vaccine prior to starting in the role, or be medically exempt. As part of the recruitment process the successful candidate will need to evidence this requirement.

You will also be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check.

20 hours per week
