About Us: Join a team that’s building strength across the borough’s voluntary and community sector services.

In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people and local businesses at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective, and efficient.

We are committed to ensuring everyone can access the support they need, when they need it, but the challenges we face as a local authority are immense, particularly following the pandemic.

We depend on a strong and resilient voluntary sector to complement council services and do all we can to support the diverse organisations that serve the borough’s residents. The Role: This is a challenging role with plenty of scope for impact and recognition, as well as the opportunity to learn and develop.

Success depends on effective relationship-building as well as rigorous performance monitoring.

Developing a coordinated approach to the voluntary and community sector (VCS), you will maintain a comprehensive understanding of the resources the Council allocates.

This includes gathering and maintaining information on the use of grants by funded organisations and the outcomes delivered by them, while providing leadership across the Council to improve our understanding of the sector’s performance.

We’ll look to you to support capacity building, support and coordinate partnership working with and among the VCS, and to identify and promote good practice.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.   About You: Experience of grants management is essential, and you’ll be used to managing performance across a complex portfolio of projects.

Able to operate independently, flexibly and at pace, you’ll have the interpersonal skills to work successfully with a range of people across the local VCS.

You’ll be skilled at data collection and presentation, and will demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Teams and PowerPoint.

Good knowledge of the voluntary sector and experience of local government are both essential.

You’ll also be an effective problem-solver with plenty of initiative, working to find solutions without having all the small details immediately available.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, training and development, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s alone will not be considered for this role.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive a high volume of suitable applicants.
