We are looking for an Events Steward to join our busy Conference and Events Team and provide support in the operational delivery of events including a variety of high profile civic, democratic, community, corporate and private events.

 'The Drum at Wembley' is Brent Council's conference and special events centre at the heart of Wembley only 19 minutes from central London. Located within the UK's Greenest Public Building Brent Civic Centre.

The Drum at Wembley first opened for business in June 2013 and since then has rapidly gone from strength to strength attracting high profile clients and large scale events. The Conference and Events Team now manage approximately 40 event activities across 10 event spaces per week, Monday to Sunday, ranging from small boardroom meetings for internal departments through to external events for 1000 guests over multiple days.

You will be responsible for set-ups, clearing up and ensuring that the venue space is equipped according to the event brief and fit for purpose. This will involve ensuring all event resources are set up in time for the event, adherence to health and safety policies and regulations and responding in a timely and friendly manner to client requests.  The post involves daily manual handling, heavy lifting and moving of furniture and equipment.

The post-holder will deliver excellent customer service and will develop and maintain good relationships across the Council

The Person

We are looking for a motivated individual who is a team player, is also able to work on their own and use their own initiative. The role requires attention to detail, strong time management and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise their workload in a busy and dynamic environment.  The person will need to be flexible with a "can do" attitude, able to work under pressure and a passion to provide excellent customer satisfaction. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills are also essential.
