About Us

In Camden, we have a strategic plan for how we deliver services in Adult Social Care and across the council to support our residents to live and age well. We know that to continue to offer support and arrange care for those most in need in Camden we need to change the way we work so that overall costs are reduced but the life chances for adults are maximised. The post holder will lead and project manage savings proposals though reducing costs of targeted accommodation based care packages to deliver best value for Camden.

The Role

The role combines “hands-on” delivery, with project management and service development.

The post holder will be required to lead negotiations and successfully negotiate fair placement prices with providers, using the CareCubed tool to inform the negotiation process. This will be for both new and existing high cost accommodation based support to deliver cost effective and timely purchasing arrangements. To view the Job Profile, please click HERE

There is a strong project management aspect to the role to ensure systems and processes are in place to track, evidence and deliver on targeted high cost new placements and reviews to negotiate cost avoidance and direct cost savings.

The post holder will also work collaboratively with colleagues in Adult Social Care and partner agencies, taking a whole system approach to identify and deliver improvements to processes. This will start from the care assessment and planning process through to fee negotiation and review. Evaluating and understanding reviews and reassessments and working with practitioners to ensuring accuracy and validity will be a key part of this.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

About You

You’ll be a committed and passionate professional with a wide range of experience in Adult Social Care with the skills to work collaboratively with colleagues, whilst also being able offer constructive challenge.

You will have experience of fee negotiation and the ability to use tools to analyse placement cost levels to identify potential savings.  You will be able to exercise judgement in negotiating contract variations and fee levels with care providers.

The right candidate will also be able to identify opportunities for service development across Adult Social Care and to embed systems and processes that support Camden obtain best value placements.
