An opportunity has arisen to undertake an apprenticeship within the Community Safety team at Chelmsford City Council.

You will gain hands on community safety and safeguarding experience assisting with a variety of meetings and projects carried out by the team to include, Crucial Crew, Reality Roadshow, Safer Streets (around the night time economy of Chelmsford) and many others. The majority of projects and events within the team are carried out in response to an issue identified within the community, this brings a large element of variety to the role – no two days are the same.

This role is an excellent opportunity to acquire practical skills, knowledge and experience supporting Community Safety Officers, getting to understand how we work to keep residents of Chelmsford safe and protected whilst working with a range of other agencies. You will also have the opportunity to accompany and assist members of the team to events and initiatives.

The successful applicant must have good standards of literacy and numeracy, be able to work as part of a team, and have good communication skills.

This is a fixed term contract during which you will be working towards a Business Administration level 3 apprenticeship.

You will be required to work 37 hours per week, normally being based at the Civic Centre but may be required to travel and / or work from other locations as required.
