Salary range: £52,866 - £56,100 p.a. inc.

Contract: Permanent

Hours of work: 36 hours per week

Location: South Kilburn, Civic centre and other locations from time to time

Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.

The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.

South Kilburn Estate Regeneration is managed by a small high achieving team with varying experience and knowledge.  The masterplan sets out the development of over 2400 homes, community infrastructure and public realm improvements over a 15 year period.  We are about half way through this ambitious programme and are looking for a new Senior Project Manager to join the team.

The Post

A Senior project manager is required for this high profile large scale residential development programme, the successful candidate will manage a variety of projects at all stages from preparing sites for development to post-handover defects.  Brent act as master developer in the South Kilburn regeneration programme and are heavily involved with residents and each delivery partner.  The team are always looking for ways to improve the process for resident and the council so each project is often different from the next. The role is heavily dependent on resident engagement both through the design process and working with rehousing officers within the team to maintain momentum onto the next development.  The role will also support the Head of Estates Regeneration with the overall goal of delivering new homes for Brent residents.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have experience of project management techniques and the ability to apply this to resident led regeneration.  You will have a great eye for detail to interrogate both financial and design information as required.  You should also have experience of designing and delivering high quality social housing, practical development knowledge and experience dealing with current planning issues. You will have the ability to work under pressure to deliver against project milestones.  You should have experience managing a team and be innately flexible in the way that you approach delivery of large scale projects. The role is varied and challenging so an ability to work on a number of projects and issues at the same time will be essential.

Closing date: 16 January 2022 (23:00)
