Sunderland City Council are currently recruiting a number of Neighbourhood Officers for the city to start ASAP on a 12-month fixed term contract.
As a Neighbourhood Officer, your role will be to support the Council's Public Health responsibilities in relation to any emerging Covid concerns. You will work agilely in the City and may be called upon to travel between areas to support the Council’s contact tracing team and to engage positively with businesses and residents on a variety of environmental and public health campaigns and projects.
In addition, you will be required to proactively report other community issues acting as the Councils eyes and ears in communities and undertake low level engagement actions to tackle issues of environmental crime and anti-social behaviour.
The job will involve some weekend work and you will work on a rota accordingly. This is not an enforcement role, so you will not be required to impose fines.
Ideally you will have previous experience of working within customer facing environments such as retail, hospitality, customer services, or security, and have an ability to act with tact and diplomacy to encourage and advise.
