Principle Regeneration Officer

Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.

The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.

Advert information

The Post

Brent Council is looking for a creative and experienced regeneration practitioner to join the Regeneration Team. We want to hear from people passionate about the role that regeneration can play in positively changing places. Brent is one of the most dynamic outer London boroughs and we want to maximise the investment for inclusive growth and create positive benefits for all our communities.

As Principal Regeneration Officer you will have a particular focus on leading all aspects of the development and delivery of workspace and enterprise initiatives, including through re-activation of vacant public and private buildings, which will see the Council take a more interventionist approach to the delivery of workspace provision to support start-ups, microbusinesses, and SMEs in the borough. Place-making and the promotion of growth and opportunity areas to attract investment into the borough will also be central to your work in the Regeneration Service.

The Person

Taking a lead role in the development, delivery and management of high profile regeneration programmes and projects, you will be expected to take ownership and drive schemes forward from inception through to successful delivery. You will be able to bid for funding, manage programmes and complex projects, work effectively across the organisation and with external partners, and consult with businesses, residents and the community to deliver tangible and high quality outcomes.

With responsibility for driving forward the Council’s workspace and meanwhile strategies, experience designing and/or managing workspace and meanwhile spaces in the public or private sector would be an advantage. You will manage multidisciplinary consultant teams and budgets, and be expected to deal at all levels and thrive under pressure. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the strategic development and direction of the Regeneration Service.

Closing date: Wednesday 26th January 2022 (23:00)
