The Job:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two 12 Month Fixed Term Contract for a full time Social Worker in the Fostering and Permanence Service, Post Order Team.

The successful candidate will report to the Team Manager and be part of a creative fostering and permanence service that works with the theories of trauma, attachment and loss, social pedagogy and restorative practice to ensure the best outcomes for our children.

Self-motivated and accustomed to working to deadlines, you will have good IT and communication skills, with experience of promoting and embedding good practice in relation to permanency planning, quality assurance, establishing and nurturing multi-agency relationships and providing training and support to colleagues.

You will have a good understanding of the Children Act 1989 guidance and regulations, Adoption and Children Act 2002, the Fostering Services Regulations 2011 and Special Guardianship Regulations 2005 (as amended by the Special Guardianship (Amendment) Regulations 2016).

The Support:

Social workers in Lambeth can look forward to accessing training opportunities which include:

  • A 3-day introduction to systemic practice offered to all staff
  • Specialist training in systemic approaches to working with domestic violence and adolescents
  • 30 places per year for 1st year accredited systemic training
  • Funded training to Practice Educator status

In addition to our training offer, all our social workers:

  • Are part of a small team of six social workers
  • Take part in regular group supervision with their team
  • Receive support from their team-based advanced practitioner
