The City of Life-Enhancers

At the City of London Corporation, we’re focused on a very clear goal. We want to provide our local residents with a great quality of life, and we want to help every business thrive. As our Head of Commissioning, you’ll be at the heart of our ambition to ensure our community – especially those with additional needs – has the support to secure safety, wellbeing, independence and potential.

Working within the Department of Community and Children’s Services, you’ll have overarching responsibility for designing and monitoring the department’s commissioned and contracted services. Covering a wide range of areas impacting on both adults and children, you’ll see to it that our services deliver real outcomes for our communities, that efficiencies are secured where possible, and that every service is delivering exceptional value. You’ll secure effective partnerships, advocating for the City in the context of changing health and social care landscapes. You’ll lead on some of the major and most complex commissioning challenges. With the chance to lead a high-achieving team in tackling areas including homelessness, housing, education, skills development and leisure services, you’ll find plenty to sink your teeth into.

To join us, you’ll need to be able to secure and maintain strategic partnerships, be willing to take a risk-based approach, and be able to manage a team, providers and a range of stakeholder relationships to deliver for the City’s communities. With an in-depth knowledge and experience of commissioning services for people -including adult and children’s social care, education, public health and housing sectors - you’ll be well-versed in commissioning services within local government procurement processes.

In return, you can look forward to a great working environment, plus a generous benefits package that includes a competitive salary.
