About us

In Camden we are committed to working together to make our borough th best place to live, work, study and visit. Partnership with our communities is central to the way we work, so that everyone can access opportunities, and nobody gets left behind.

The role

We are looking for a talented and committed individual to help drive the delivery of planning benefits from new development in Camden. The post is within Camden’s Infrastructure and Growth team.

The successful candidate will focus on the collection of the Community Infrastructure Levy and the spending of CIL and Section 106 funds.  The post will therefore play a crucial role in managing impacts and maximising benefits from development. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Collection of CIL, managing an individual caseload and making decisions on CIL liability

  • Supporting work to manage the spending of Section 106 and CIL monies, working with colleagues in areas such as transport, education, community facilities, open space and housing

  • Liaison and negotiation with colleagues, stakeholders and developers to maximise positive outcomes from development contributions and obligations

  • Potential involvement in the management / implementation of Section 106 agreements.

  • Providing planning support for individual infrastructure projects.

  • Financial monitoring and reporting, including work with colleagues in Finance and Communications

The successful post holder will have relevant experience of working in planning, preferably in relation to Community Infrastructure Levy and Section 106 agreements, or in related areas.

This is a role that requires a wide range of skills and behaviours and we are looking for people who are able to work as part of a team and to work on their own initiative to deliver positive outcomes.

You’ll have strong organisational, negotiation and communication skills and will be able to engage and understand the perspectives of a range of stakeholders (both within the Council and Camden’s wider communities) that feed into the delivery of liveable places. You’ll have the ability to apply your analytical and problem-solving skills to assist in delivering sustainable communities.

We are keen to help team members develop and are looking for a positive individual with personal drive and initiative who wants to learn and improve to join our team.

Working for Camden

We’re ready to welcome your ideas, your views, and your rebellious spirit. Help us redefine how we’re supporting our communities, and we’ll redefine what a career can be. If that sounds good to you, we’d love to talk.
