Join us, and you could be at the heart of a number of these high-profile challenges. The context of the scale of the Growth Challenge: cumulative District and Borough Local Plans across the county provide for 91,000 new homes, 92,000 new jobs and forecast a 20% increase in traffic up to 2031.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead on sustainability/climate change emergency by ensuring it is intrinsic to everything we do. You'll be translating the global ambitions of COP26, local ambitions and inspiring the workforce and providers to reach our commitment to be carbon neutral by 2030. In turn, you will balance immediate concerns with long-term planning goals.
The successful candidate will have the chance to make an impact from day one, so you will need to hit the ground running. We are seeking a candidate with experience of strategic leadership, who can work in a large, complex and political organisation. You will need exceptional communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
