There is circa £1/4 bn investment of regeneration in the borough and having recently secured £40M from the government levelling up funds, we are making huge investments.  We want to create housing choices that support local affordability whilst also bringing choice that attracts local and international inward investment supporting sustainable economic growth. 

This role has responsibility for the place making strategy for the Council, overseeing the implementation of our major regeneration programmes as well as key initiatives such as the Accelerated Land Disposal Programme and our work to progress the Northern Gateway opportunity.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Place, you will bring strong leadership skills, instilling confidence in a team of professionals to ensure the effective delivery of our town centre masterplans.  Offering commercial insight and a vision that aligns with the overarching objectives of the Council’s “Let’s Do It Strategy” will also be key.
