About Us:

Develop your skills in a role like no other.

Our remit at The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is simple. We are focused on putting residents at the heart of every decision in order to give them the best possible quality of life.

This focus is particularly important for our passionate and committed Housing colleagues, who strive to ensure that everybody, regardless of their background or circumstances, has a safe and secure place to call home.

Our work is deeply fulfilling, with every day presenting us with new challenges. Join this forward-thinking team and you will have access to a career path that is unparalleled in terms of scope and opportunity, with the chance to make a tangible difference to the life outcomes of some of our community’s most vulnerable individuals.

The Role:

This is a great opportunity to build trust with residents and young care leavers who are in temporary accommodation.

At a challenging point in their lives, it is vital that we can quickly establish a rapport with residents as they come into our hostels, and you will be at the helm of this work.

Hitting the ground running you will be responsible for managing temporary accommodation schemes and determining the best way to enhance the resident experience.

This will include delivering high quality housekeeping, maintenance and security standards within our hostels, and helping residents understand the welfare system and helping them prepare for moving into more stable accommodation.

You will also be supporting the lettings process, from conducting viewings and supporting residents with adhering to their licence agreements.

Determining creative ways to engage with those who are using our services, you will also get involved in fundraising for the hostels in order to constantly improve what we are offering.

As such you will bring plenty of ideas to the role, with the capacity to build partnerships with a wide variety of stakeholders and organisations.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You: To be equal to this dynamic challenge, you will be a highly focused individual who has experience in housing and community-based partnership working.

With a good knowledge of homelessness and housing related support, it is essential that you have the ability to understand the needs and concerns of the residents, and you will combine empathy with a great practical understanding of the welfare and benefits support system.

Crucially, you will have a background in dealing with vulnerable residents, and you will have the verbal and written communication skills required to create high quality reports and connect most effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Confident in your ability to apply for and secure funding and resources you won't be phased by working under pressure to meet deadlines.

Join us in this fascinating challenge, and you will have access to a wide range of desirable benefits, plus excellent training and development opportunities in order to progress your career.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s alone will not be considered for this role.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive a high volume of suitable applicants.
