We have an increasing demand for affordable accommodation to meet our statutory housing duty for homeless households in Brent
Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.
The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.
Focusing on increasing the supply of suitable accommodation for our clients, you will be expected to engage and negotiate with private sector landlords and agencies to meet our demand for housing in order to enable the Council to discharge its housing duty. Supporting and building relationships with landlords to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction and tenancy sustainment is vital.
The role requires a hard working and motivated individual who has a passion for property and extensive negotiating experience. You will conduct viewings and property inspections, contribute to the accommodation strategy and business development. A good knowledge of the housing market and homelessness is essential.
