Imagine a diverse town full of contrasts, a strong identity and residents who are proud to call it home. A town centre that is bustling and is the focal point of regeneration, retail, housing, leisure and economic growth. A place that is home to high-quality education, that is investing in infrastructure and employment initiatives, attracting inward investment and providing local people with jobs for the future. This is Bolton.
We are emerging from the pandemic stronger than ever, facing challenges together, and it is this strength that will see us continue to deliver our Bolton 2030 vision, derived from pride in our place and the aspirations of local people, with a simple ambition at its heart; a borough in which our children will grow up in a vibrant place, built on robust cohesive communities, successful businesses and healthy residents.
As Assistant Director of Environment and Regulatory Services, you will be responsible for core ‘front-line’ place-based services, including waste management, street scene, green spaces, bereavement services, fleet management, licensing, environmental health, trading standards and enforcement.
Services that not only ensure our neighbourhoods are well kept but play a vital role in promoting health and wellbeing, giving people access to attractive well maintained outdoor spaces, attracting investment and delivering on our commitment to improve the environment. Working with the Director of Place Services, you will drive our modernisation agenda, deliver efficiencies, embrace new technology and develop new and innovative service delivery models. Experience of developing effective relationships with staff, elected members and trade unions is critical, promoting a ‘One Council’ culture, working in collaboration with internal colleagues and strategic partners, as well as promoting and strengthening external relationships outside of the borough.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a leading role in the Bolton story and to be part of our unique Bolton Family. For more information, please click on the Apply Button below. or contact our advising consultant at GatenbySanderson, Philip Emms on 07590 225 472.
