West Lancashire Borough Council
Location
Lancashire
Salary

Closing date

It’s an exciting time to join us here in West Lancs as we are looking for 3 inspirational leaders who have the energy and drive to take us on our next journey as we build a more inclusive borough that works for everyone.  A flexible, agile, working style will allow a combination of home and office working, generous leave package and attractive salary are just some of the added benefits of ensuring that staff working at West Lancs have a healthy work-life balance.

The Council wants the very best for our community and is seeking proven, inspiring, senior leaders who can help shape effective policy and translate ambitions into action.  Demonstrable experience of delivering successful outcomes that make a real difference to people's lives is essential.

We have big ambitions outlined in our council plan to create new jobs, new homes, and high-quality public facilities for all our communities to enjoy. At the centre of our plan is the new town centre development in Skelmersdale. We have recently built several high-quality units to house some exciting established retail brands. We are also working with local businesses to create opportunities for economic growth and innovation, alongside plans for a new public park in the heart of the town.  Improvements to public realm, a new transport hub, safer travel corridors across Ormskirk town centre are all underway, in addition to the delivery of Health and Wellbeing Hubs.

We continue to create an attractive environment and deliver the very best accessible public services our residents need and deserve, supporting those hit hardest by the pandemic and most in need. This means getting the basics right (cleaning the streets and collecting waste) and creating a sustainable environment for the future, pledging to become carbon neutral by 2030.

By working in partnership with our communities, listening to what they have to say and taking action, we will keep improving our services to be the very best they can be. We are committed to reducing inequalities, tackling poverty, and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to fulfil their potential.

We recognise that this cannot be done in isolation and continue to work closely with a range of partners, driving forward joint ambitions for health, wellbeing, work and jobs, housing, transport, skills and economic growth for residents across our county.

Our staff play a vital role in making sure we deliver the best quality and value for money services. Together, we champion our 'One Council' approach to deliver our collective ambitions.  We strive to be an organisation where employees feel valued, inspired and empowered to provide the best possible services.

Selection Process: Online interviews 7 & 8 February 2022 / Assessment Centre and Final in person Interview 17 & 18 February 2022
