Ashford Borough Council, Maidstone Borough Council, Swale Borough Council and Tunbridge Wells Borough Council are recruiting a Head of Audit for Mid Kent Services

The Role

Joining the Senior Leadership Team of Mid Kent Services (MKS) you will provide audit services across four Kent authorities: Ashford, Maidstone, Swale, and Tunbridge Wells.

In each, you will create solid working links with senior management and Members whilst providing insight and challenge, ensuring the Audit Team is a valuable partner in each authority’s development whist tailoring solutions to meet their individual needs.

To be successful in this role you will be an outstanding leader with an effective communication style that is transparent and inclusive.

You will continually drive forward service improvements, whilst having political sensitivity and gain the confidence of stakeholders in all organisations.

The Organisation

MKS delivers a range of high quality and cost-effective shared services across Maidstone, Swale, and Tunbridge Wells Borough Councils (plus Borough Council for the Audit Shared Service).

MKS’s focus is on innovative service delivery to achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction whilst reducing costs for residents and setting the standard for other authorities to follow.

The Head of Audit is responsible to the Director of the Mid Kent Partnership.

Candidates

You may already be a Senior Audit Leader or Audit Manager looking to step up into the role to progress your career within a Shared Service environment.

Local authority experience is not essential as we are keen to hear from innovative audit leaders looking for their next challenge.
