About Us:

Support the IT systems and people who make a difference for vulnerable adults and children.

At the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, we put delivering for our communities at the heart of everything we do. The same goes for our Bi Borough partners at Westminster City Council. Our Shared ICT Services are instrumental in making sure teams across both authorities deliver for local people. With so many frontline business areas reliant on IT systems, the quality of IT support and development services has never been more important. Joining our solutions-driven team, you will discover an open and supportive culture in a customer-focused environment.

Here, you will find a workplace that celebrates diversity, and champions inclusivity – and we have multiple awards to prove it, having won a REAL IT Award for ‘IT Department with the Best Inclusion and Diversity Initiative’ and as both a finalist and a winner in the Women in Tech Excellence Award over the last two years.

We are passionate about ensuring our workforce can secure a great work/life balance. As such, we were delighted to be awarded the ‘Best Health and Wellbeing Initiative’ in the Business Culture Awards 2020, and we were also Highly Commended in the ‘Diversity & Inclusion’ category. We are delighted to embrace a true community spirit within the IT department, in which colleagues celebrate their differences and support one another in both their professional and personal lives

The Role:

We are recruiting to two roles, which will both provide IT support and maintenance services for key business applications. Both available roles will work across the boroughs and with customers in diverse teams. One will focus on applications used in Children’s Services and the other will focus on applications used in Adult Social Care.

Whichever role you join us in, the six months of your contract are sure to be varied and interesting. You will enjoy a diverse range of responsibilities, providing responsive first and second line support across multiple applications and a variety of projects. You will develop skills and knowledge in the support of various IT systems, plus a real understanding of governance.

From supporting, testing and updating case management systems, to providing helpdesk support and informal training to social care practitioners, to playing an active role in developing user guides and process documentation, you will help us to help people build better lives.

About You:

To join us, you will need to have achieved grade C or above in at least five GCSEs including English and Maths. You will bring to the role practical experience of ICT helpdesk or super-user support, development, implementation or project support. A good understanding of data protection requirements will be as important as your ability to solve IT issues.

A collaborative and proactive individual, you know how to juggle your responsibilities in order to keep delivering timely results for others. You are comfortable working with sensitive information and taking part in systems testing. Crucially, you have the ability to communicate clearly in non-technical terms as you support people who are not highly IT literate.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s will not be considered for this role.
