We need to recruit to an experienced and committed Surveyor and would welcome applications from those who can rise to the challenge of working in a new way to deliver improved services in a very busy team.
The post is within the Hostel Services Team in Temporary Accommodation Hostels Service. The existing hostel portfolio is located throughout the borough. The buildings are of varying size and type, ranging from street properties to purpose-built blocks which contain both self-contained and shared facilities. Due to the nature and demand of homelessness services, we are continually looking at new ways to provide accommodation to our property portfolio to make it more appropriate to these changing needs.
The successful candidate will be an experienced surveyor who will drive forward these changes as well as providing technical and surveying support and advice for the Hostel Services Team. They will ensure the identification and accurate diagnosis of complex repairs for occupied and empty accommodation, the specification of repairs of a complex and technical nature to a professional standard and co-ordination of day-to-day repairs. They will liaise with the repair contractors to ensure effective contract monitoring, devising, and recommending cost effective solutions to repair problems and ensure the premises comply with all statutory health and safety standards.
