The West Fostering Team have a position available for an Advanced Practitioner. This is a great opportunity for the right person to join our busy team. The team provides support and supervision to Foster carers alongside assessment.
The Advance Practitioner role will involve some case holding including complex work and co working but will also have a lead in the development of the Fostering team and the work we do. Fostering is an essential role to allow children who are unable to live with their usual care giver to have a safe environment in the short or long term.
Children need a safe home to develop and process the trauma and loss that is often involved in reasons for removal. The supervision and support of foster carers facilitated by Fostering Social Workers means that we foster and encourage supportive and therapeutic care. There are areas of development needed with in the fostering team and the successful candidate of this post will have a key role not only in the training and supervision of foster carers to meet the complex needs of children but also in developing key areas for the team.
There will be an interview which will involve a presentation the topic for the presentation will be. Developing the Fostering service for children.
This is a broad title and the interview panel will look forward to hearing innovative ideas to this very complex and challenging question. The interviewee will need to present ideas and a plan of implementation.

Post specification
This role requires an enhanced DBS check with a Childrens and Adults Barred List check. Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with Adults and/or Children.

We currently are operating virtual interviews. This will preferably be undertaken using the Microsoft Teams software which is currently free for new users however if there are any issues with accessing this technology we are happy to discuss alternative arrangements prior to the interviews.
Options will be discussed with candidates once they have been invited to the interview stage of the process and if you have any concerns or adjustments are needed we are happy to discuss.
