About the role

We are seeking a Senior Debt & Financial Inclusion Adviser to provide specialist debt and money advice, information and casework management service to our Camden residents and a second tier debt support service to colleagues across the council providing coaching, training and advice.                                    

The role involves working with our residents living in Camden’s homes to have secure, safe and affordable housing that meets their ongoing needs. You will advise on all aspects of debt and money management; this includes negotiating with priority and non-priority creditors and completing financial statements, as well as maximising incomes.

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and police vetting.

The successful post holder will have strong communication, negotiation and advocacy skills with experience in financial inclusion and providing debt advice casework service to clients.  They will have either the IMA money advice certificate or be able to work towards achieving it, and becoming a DRO intermediary.

You will need to demonstrate that you have the ability to meet the key requirements of the role as set out in the job profile under the section ‘About You’.
