Due to current Coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions we are following Government advice and this may result in interviews being held via video call.

An influential role

As part of the Assistant Chief Executive’s directorate, you’ll lead the Council’s Change & Innovation team which supports an ambitious and wide-ranging change programme, helping the council to deliver against its priorities.

You’ll provide the necessary grip and rigour of the programme, providing assurance to the Strategic Leadership Team, whilst working collaboratively to drive progress forward.  It’ll be your job to work with project sponsors and leads, identifying opportunities, ensuring accountability, resourcing and ensuring quality assurance and monitoring.

We’ll also look to you to drive continuous improvement throughout the organisation by ensuring that managers and individuals are engaged, developed and supported to maintain good standards in project management and to be enthused about innovation.

 An inspiring individual

You’ll bring creativity and a can-do attitude to the role, inspiring both confidence and engagement.  As you’ll be working closely with senior officers from across the council and with partners, you’ll have shown you can build relationships and forge strong and robust partnerships.

As an experienced programme and project manager you’ll also be a skilled negotiator and someone who thinks creatively as well as analytically. A talent for communicating, both in person and on paper is vital too, so you can explain proposals clearly and build consensus.

To arrange a time for a confidential discussion, please contact Liz Athorn PA to Jo Brown, Assistant Chief Executive directly on 01709 255269 or email liz.athorn@rotherham.gov.uk
