As Highway Authority Lancashire County Council is responsible for over 7500km of vehicular highway containing 152,000 streetlights and 15,000 illuminated signs/bollards, over 2,000 bridges and other structures and many other highway assets.
Based in the Highways Asset Team, we are currently looking for a Technical Policy Officer; ideally with previous street lighting experience to lead a small team.
The post holder will to contribute towards the wider Highway Asset Management service through the development of asset risk based approached to asset management, including development of the Transport Asset Management Plan. The post holder will be required to update and initiate policies, procedures, and codes of practice a range of highway assets, in line with the provisions contained in the Well-managed Highway Infrastructure Code of Practice and other national guidance as considered appropriate. The post holder will also be required to contribute towards briefing notes and reports for a range of audiences including Cabinet, Highways and Transport Cabinet Member and the Highways Infrastructure Asset Management Strategy Board.
Key responsibilities include maintaining an accurate inventory that comprises of over 152,000 lighting columns and 15,000 illuminated signs and bollards, maintaining the street lighting lifecycle plan, carrying out street lighting lifecycle modelling and other street lighting related tasks as requested, supporting the submission of energy returns calculation of key performance indicators, approval of section 50 attachments to lighting columns.
